Student of the Week: January 27th, 2020

Congratulations to SMS Alpine student-athlete Aleix Aubert '23 on being recognized as Stratton Mountain School’s latest Student of the Week!
“Imagine never visiting SMS before your first day here,” began Alpine U16 Head Coach David Kent as he presented Student of the Week during Wednesday’s All School Meeting. “Now imagine traveling several thousand miles from home to join this community, pursue ski racing, and complete your studies in a second language. Sounds intimidating. But that has never stopped Aleix Auburt.”

From Day 1, Aleix Aubert has made the most of his home-away-from-home at Stratton Moutain School and quickly become a central figure in the community.

Aleix’s teachers and coaches say that he is “blessed with a charming personality” and appreciate his willingness to share in the classroom and on the hill.

“He is engaging and focused,” added one of his teachers. “Aleix tangibly enhances the experience for his classmates.”

“During his first week of racing in the United States, Aleix started from the back of the pack,” continued Kent. “But Aleix managed to work his way onto the podium in his second race while winning the second run in the process.”

‘While our race announcers like to call him ‘Alex Aubrey,’ we know him as our Student of the Week, Aleix Aubert.”

Congratulations, Aleix!
