SMS Senior Gift
In conjunction with the SMS 50th celebratory year, SMS established the “Senior Gift” as part of the school’s larger Annual Fund Campaign. The Senior Gift encourages parents of the upcoming graduating class to celebrate their child’s time at SMS by funding an impactful enhancement to the SMS campus.
We’re excited to share that the Class of 2026 Senior Gift project is well underway, and we’re making strong progress thanks to the leadership of our Senior Gift Chairs, Charlotte Neeves and Nevin Djoganopoulos. Their energy, organization, and commitment have been incredible—please join us in thanking them for helping to carry on this important SMS tradition!
To date, just over 50% of the graduating class has pledged their support, totaling more than $20,000 raised toward our goal of over $30,000 and 100% participation by the end of October.
We need your help to get there! If you haven’t yet donated or pledged, please consider joining this effort today—no amount is too small, and every family’s participation truly matters.
This year’s Senior Gift will fund the construction of the Class of 2026 Greenhouse near the upper campus gazebo—a vibrant addition that will bring new life to campus and serve as a hands-on learning environment for earth science, health, STEM, and environmental science classes. The SMS kitchen will also use the greenhouse to grow fresh, nutritious food for our community meals.
Once complete, the greenhouse will be dedicated in honor of the Class of 2026, leaving a lasting legacy for future generations of SMS students.
We also invite all senior parents to join us on Friday, October 10, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. in the PK Building for our Fall Community Gathering, beginning with the Senior Parent Toast at 5:00 p.m. on the Class of 2025 Commons. It will be a wonderful evening to celebrate our seniors and this exciting project together.

LEGACY OF SENIOR CLASS GIFTS
The Class of 2025 Senior Gift Fund supported the creation of the center patio on Garthwaite Green. The project features picnic tables, a fire pit, and a large inlaid compass, offering a welcoming gathering space for meals and community events while enhancing accessibility between campus buildings.
The Class of 2024 Senior Gift Fund supported upgrading student gathering spaces in the Lennox Family Lounge in the Patti Kaltsas Education, Arts, and Student Center. A large sliding glass door now opens up the A. Joyce Jones student lounge to a newly furnished deck for the students.
The Class of 2023 Senior Gift Fund raised funds to replace the Luckenbill Field scoreboard and for netting at the field's end zones, supporting the SMS Fall and Spring Sports Program.
The SMS Class of 2022 Senior Gift Fund raised funds to enhance the outdoor training space at the Greg Needell Strength and Conditioning Gym.
Stratton Mountain School
Stratton Mountain School is an independent boarding and day school that focuses on college preparatory academics and competitive winter sports. Located at the base of Stratton Mountain, SMS is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools.
