Student of the Week: January 13, 2021

Congratulations to SMS Freeski student-athlete Ben Bodett ‘21 on being recognized as Student of the Week.
Ben joined the SMS Freeski program as a Senior and has quickly proven himself to be a talented athlete. His coaches, who nominated Ben for the award, feel that he has been a perfect addition to the Freeski team.

“The son of a prominent radio panelist, this kid does have a way with words,” said Freeski Coach Liam Downey during his Student of the Week presentation. “Ben doesn’t call the last run; he asks ‘shall we adjourn?’”

Ben has also proven himself to be a great student in the classroom and recently received early acceptance to the University of Colorado. As one of his teachers pointed out, “Ben has a way of bringing intellectual insight, humor, and sincerity all in a single comment.”

According to his coaches, Ben’s sincerity and genuineness are rubbing off on his teammates, and morale has been at an all-time high since he joined the team.

“Having known Ben for several years, it is wonderful to see all of his hard work and introspection culminate into the happiness and growth he is experiencing now,” added English Teacher and Middle School Dean Chris Marks.

Please join us in congratulating our SMS Student of the Week, Mr. Ben Bodett. Keep it up!
