Congratulations to Brett Haber (SMS Alpine `21) for being recognized as the SMS Student of the Week!
When Brett Haber arrived at SMS in 2015, it was clear that he would make a lasting impression. Even as a young seventh-grader, he showed a genuine interest in learning and bettering those around him. Haber’s positive attitude and tenacity have continued to impress his teachers and coaches over the years, making him a shoo-in for Student of the Week.
“This student’s efforts and positive attitude, even when faced with challenges, have been incredibly impressive,” explained Melissa Olivia during her Student of the Week presentation. “He brings a calm, thoughtful, and level-headed attitude to all that he does.”
Haber is a natural-born leader who always puts forth his best effort, whether it be in the classroom, in the weight room, on the hill, or in the community. He has been involved in several campus initiatives, is an active member of the student council, and is one of our student advocacy group's founding members, “Food for Thought.”
“Brett celebrates the achievements of others but is humble in his own success- a quiet doer,” continued Oliva. “Our faculty and coaches appreciate his earnestness and strong motivation to give back to his community.”
According to his coaches, Haber is stronger than ever and has put himself in a great position for the season's start. He has also become a role model for his teammates in conditioning, group meetings, and mental performance sessions.
