Dear Stratton Mountain School Community,
As we look toward the 2020/2021 academic year, I would like to share some details about the steps Stratton Mountain School is actively taking to welcome students and families back to campus on September 7.
The reopening of campus will follow strict COVID-19 protocols, incorporating best practices from the
CDC, the
US Department of Education, the
VT Dept of Health, the
VT Agency of Education, the
NAIS,
US Ski and Snowboard, and the
USOPC, which have each generated policies that will guide the development of the Stratton Mountain School COVID-19 Manual (SMSC19 Manual). The development of this manual is being overseen by the appointed Steering Committee and will be released in July. Until that time, our campus remains closed to the public.
In the meantime, our facilities team continues to focus on the regular cleaning of high contact areas and making sanitation materials available throughout campus. All visitors, including staff, must wear masks and take their temperature before entering any building. The CDC asks symptomatic individuals to stay at home. Stratton Mountain School echoes this recommendation and asks that community members with signs of respiratory illness or fever remain at home.
Much has changed since we closed our doors in March, and the situation will continue to evolve as this pandemic progresses. Stratton Mountain School will continue to update you on the situation and take action where necessary over the next few months.
I wish you all a happy and healthy summer.
In partnership,
Carson Thurber
Head of School
