Built on a Tradition of Excellence

Student of the Week, November 20

November 20, 2019

Congratulations to Will Clark (SMS Snowboarding `23) for being recognized as the SMS Student of the Week!

Will Clark has been described as positive, happy, grateful, dedicated, and funny—and that’s why he’s this week’s SMS Student of the Week!

I find myself laughing harder when this young man’s around,” said SMS Snowboarding Coach Tommy Gambino, who nominated Will for Student of the Week. “He’s one of those people that makes you happy when they’re around.”

Will is a great citizen in the SMS community, often seen playing soccer with staff children on campus and keeping his room spotless (he and teammate Charlie Bergantino `23 have won ‘Cleanest Room’ multiple times)! Most importantly, he always has a good attitude.

His dedication to getting better and not caring about starting out at the beginning stages is what makes him an inspiration to me,” Gambino continued. “He’ll put himself out there to learn, to grow and to be a better person.”

Will has worked hard academically, and his teachers say that he has begun to take on a leadership role in the classroom. He and his classmates have even applied visualization techniques learned in class during training! His coaches say that they are especially proud of the extra steps that Will has taken in his spare time to become a stronger rider, whether it be skating or lifting morning and night.

The self-proclaimed ‘New England Freight Train,’ isn’t afraid of a challenge,” Gambino concluded. “Whether he is trying to learn a new trick that takes forever to learn or squaring up with Ross during indoor soccer, this kid doesn’t back down. Congratulations, Big Will!”
