SMS Girls play tenacious Game at GMVS

May 10, 2019

STRATTON—The Stratton Mountain School Girls Lacrosse team battled it out at Green Mountain Valley School on Thursday, May 9, ultimately ending the game 14-6 in favor of GMVS

It was an aggressive game, but the entire team worked really well together and everyone put in a strong effort,” said Head Coach Emily Daly. “The defensive squad brought a strong performance, and really stepped it up in the second half.”

Midfielder Lauren Abdow `19 led the charge with four goals throughout the game, followed by fellow midfielder Caitlin Collins `21 with two. While the SMS Girls were only three points down after the first half, their attack had a hard time scoring against the GMVS defensive squad. Senior Sophia Holm `19 took on the challenge with tenacity, and Jacqui Culver `21 also had a great game, initially playing defense and then joining the attack in the second half.

The SMS Girls play again on Tuesday, May 14 at Otter Valley.

Stratton Mountain School is an independent boarding and day school that focuses on college preparatory academics and competitive winter sports. Located at the base of Stratton Mountain, SMS serves students in grades 7 – 12.
