Top-Ten Finish for Zylis Hawkins at Rev Tour Qualifier

Stratton Mountain School freeskier, Zylis Hawkins ‘20, took 5th place in Slopestyle at the first stop of the USSA Eastern Freestyle/Freeskiing EASTFREE Tour. The event was held at Waterville Valley Resort over the weekend and was also a Revolution Tour qualifier. The top three athletes earned spots on this year’s Revolution Tour.

Zylis finished with a score of 89.6 in the qualifying round, which was the highest score out of 33 competitors. His run featured tricks such as a Switch Right 540 Mute, Left Cork 7 Tail, Front 450, and a Back 450.

‚ÄúZylis skied really well in qualifiers despite the frigid temperature and challenging conditions. Nice work Zylis, we’re proud of you!” stated SMS Freeskiing Program Director, Jessie Mallis.
