Alpine Racers Podium at Copper Mountain 
Stratton Mountain School alpine athletes competed at Copper Mountain last week and earned two podiums at the event. On November 29th, Olivia Holm ‘19 earned 3rd for U19 Women in the Super–G race. U.S. Ski Team member, George Steffey ‘15, finished 2nd in the Men’s Super–G race the following day.

Top 10 Finishes for Caldwell and Diggins in Norway
On December 2nd, U.S. Ski Team athletes, Sophie Caldwell ‘08 and Jessie Diggins (SMS T2) competed in the Classic Sprint at the FIS Cross Country World Cup in Lillehammer, Norway. Diggins finished in 6th place and Caldwell in 9th place.

Freeski Athletes Compete in World Cup Events
Caroline Claire ‘18 (U.S. Ski Team, Rookie Team) finished 3rd in Slopestyle at the FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup in Stubai, Austria on November 26th. She earned a spot in the finals by finishing in 4th place during the qualifiers. FIS ranked Caroline as 6th in the world for Ladies Slopestyle.

Mac Forehand ‘20 finished 10th at the FIS Big Air World Cup in Milan, Italy on November 18th. Mac finished 3rd in his heat during qualifiers and advanced to the finals with pros from all over the world. He also finished 10th at the FIS Big Air World Cup in Germany on December 1st.

Stratton Mountain School is an independent boarding and day school that focuses on college preparatory academics and competitive winter sports. Located at the base of Stratton Mountain, SMS is accredited by NEASC, is a member of NAIS, and is an official U.S. Ski & Snowboard Development Site.
