Freeskiing Coaches

Jesse Mallis, Freeskiing Program Director
With over thirty years of skiing experience, Jesse Mallis brings his own personal competition experience combined with all-around knowledge of this fast-growing sport. Prior to Stratton Mountain School, Jesse was the Head Freestyle Coach at Mount Snow Academy, where he worked with a small group of Freeskiers to provide the highest level of training and coaching. Jesse holds a USSA Level 300 Freeskiing certification.

Jesse’s current athletes have been invited to USSA Junior World Championships and won titles such as USSA National Slopestyle Champion, USSA Revolution Tour Overall Champion, Aspen Open Big Air Champion, USASA National Champion, and USSA Junior National Big Air Champion. Jesse has coached athletes including:

Keith Shipman
Keith Shipman holds a USSA level 400 aerials coaching certification and is actively pursuing his level 500, the highest existing aerial certification. He is a 2008 graduate of North Country Community College, with a degree in Outdoor Recreation Management. Keith brings many valuable assets to the program, including ten years of coaching experience on ramps, trampolines, and on snow – from working with new athletes all the way up to Olympic medalists. He is also a ski technician and sales associate with vast knowledge of the ski industries’ top brands and has experience as a Head Judge at two USCSA NCAA Freeride National Championships.
