Stratton Mountain School Nordic Camps

SMS Nordic’s annual Summer Camps combine training and fun using a time-tested philosophy with proven results. The program boasts 23 consecutive years with at least 1 Gold Medal at Junior Nationals, as well as at least 1 skier qualifying for Junior World Championships. There, at least 3 skiers have won medals since 2016. Additionally, those accolades accompany both 80+ All-American finishes at Junior Nationals over the past five years and outstanding college placements including Dartmouth, UVM, Harvard, Middlebury, and UNH. SMS Nordic student athletes train on 10+ Kilometers of groomed skiing from campus, with 3k of snowmaking at Stratton Mountain Resort, and enjoy Fall and Spring Sports including XC Running, Mountain Biking, Lacrosse, and Soccer.

The SMS Nordic Program hosts two camps at Stratton Mountain School throughout the summer. Camps are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact Nordic Coach Matt Boobar for additional information.

SMS Nordic BKL Camp

The SMS Nordic BKL camp is designed for skiers entering grades 5 through 8. Campers are introduced to roller skiing and core strength as well as long-term training theories and techniques. The emphasis, however, is on being active, making friends and having fun! There are a wide variety of activities, including soccer, roller skiing, hiking, camp Olympics, swimming, evening entertainment, and ultimate Frisbee.

When: August 12-15, 2019 (arrive 2 p.m. Monday, depart 1 p.m. Thursday)
Where: Stratton Mountain School
Includes: Room, Board, Coaching and a Camp T-Shirt
Open to: Skiers entering 5th through 8th-grade
Cost: $400

SMS Nordic Junior Camp

At the SMS Nordic Junior Camp participants train with nationally ranked skiers, work on skills essential for success, and leave with an understanding of the requirements to improve their fall training and ski faster than ever. Activities include classic and skate roller skiing, ski striding, hiking, soccer, swimming, evening entertainment, and more.

When: August 15-18, 2019 (arrive 3 p.m. Thursday, depart 1 p.m. Sunday)
Where: Stratton Mountain School
Includes: Room, Board, Coaching, and a Camp T-Shirt
Open to: Skiers entering 9th through 12th grade
Cost: $400
