Snowboarding Camps

The SMS Snowboarding Program prides itself on providing athletes with the most up-to-date coaching and training opportunities. Our training camps aim to improve technique and tactics with individualized training plans. Each athlete will focus on his or her goals with the support of the SMS Snowboarding staff.

Signing up for an SMS Snowboarding Camp is a three-step process which includes: a registration form, a medical/liability form, and payment. Sign up for any of the camps listed below by completing the following steps. Additional dates for 2017 are coming soon!

August Snowboarding Camp

Location: Perisher, Australia
Date: August 3–19, 2017 (ten days on snow)
Cost: TBD
Includes: Lodging, ground transportation, breakfast, lunch, dinner, training venue access on the hill, and SMS coaching.

Action Sports Camp

Location: Stratton Mountain School, Vermont
Camp Focus: Participants will have access to the full-sized foam pit, Ross Trampolines and the Max Air Super Trampoline, as well as the full-size skate park and strength and conditioning space in the Air Awareness Center on the SMS campus. 
Date: Summer, Fall and Winter Camps
Cost: Depends on session
Age Class: Boys and girls ages 8–16
Camp Staff: Staff consists of SMS Freeskiing, Freestyle, and Snowboarding coaches, who have years of professional experience teaching jump fundamentals and aerial progressions to ensure athletes learn safely and properly.

Young Gun Project

Location: Stratton Mountain, Vermont
Date: Winter 2018
Cost: TBD
Camp Focus: Get a taste of what the SMS Snowboarding Program is all about. Ramp up your skills on the hill and on the trampolines in the Air Awareness Center. In the four-day session, athletes will train both on and off the hill alongside SMS athletes and work with the SMS coaching staff. Participants will also train in the Air Awareness Center, dine in the SMS Dining Hall, and check out an SMS class. The SMS faculty will tutor participants to keep them up to date with schoolwork from their home schools.

International Travel Considerations

Families of athletes traveling internationally should also consider information posted by the US Customs and Border Protection regarding children traveling with only one parent or under the supervision of someone who is not a parent or legal guardian.

SMS recommends that families confirm health insurance policy stipulations regarding illness or injury coverage during international travel. Below are several links to companies that provide travel insurance and rescue management. Please contact these organizations directly with inquiries.
