The Stratton Mountain School mission is to provide each student with the opportunity to pursue excellence in competitive winter sports and college preparatory academics while developing strong personal values.

College-preparatory academic program
Three major winter athletics programs: alpine, Nordic, snowboard
One pilot program: freestyle skiing, including pipe and park
Fall and spring athletics: soccer, cross-country running, lacrosse, cycling, golf, skateboarding, tennis
Total enrollment is 140 for the 2011-2012 school year, grades 7–12 & post graduate

- 75 boarding students and 64 day students

Average grade size is 20 students; average class size is 10 students
Full term program (September–June) is open to grades 8–12 & post graduate only
Winter term program (November 27–March 23) is open to grades 7–8 and grade 9 on a case-by-case basis
