CAMP REGISTRATION is a three-step process—REGISTRATION, MEDICAL FORM, and PAYMENT—each of which is accessed by clicking the associated red boxes found on the page below.

Hintertux, Austria Camp

Hintertux, Austria Camp 
June 5 - 16, 2016
Target Group: U16, U19 (SMS students only)
Focus: The focus for this camp is age-appropriate skill acquisition. Setting a solid foundation for basic fundamental skills going into the ski season is essential. At this camp the emphasis is on free skiing and basic turn shape drills and tactics.
Location: Hintertux, Austria is located in the heart of the Tyrolean Zillertal Valley, where year-round skiing is varied and enjoyable whenever you visit. Athletes will enjoy a day trip to nearby Innsbruck, Austria, where they can explore the Tyrolean capital’s deep and rich history. 
Cost:  $2595 + airfare ($500 deposit required)

CAMP INFORMATION

Mt. Hood Camp #1

Mt. Hood Camp #1 
June 18 - 30, 2016
Target Group:  U12, U14, U16 (open enrollment; priority to SMS enrolled students)
Focus:  Mt. Hood is the first step of a three-camp progression. Athletes travel to Mt. Hood to continue the on-snow preparation. On-snow training focuses on age-appropriate skill drills, technique and tactics. Mornings are spent on the glacier free-skiing, working through fundamentals, technical progressions, and gate training. Afternoons are filled with a variety of fun fitness-based activities. 
Location:  Mt. Hood, Oregon 
Cost:  $2950 + airfare ($500 deposit required)

Mt. Hood Camp #2

Mt. Hood Camp #2 (Giant Slalom) 
June 30 - July 9, 2016
Target Group:  U12, U14, U16 (open enrollment)
Focus:  In the next step of the progression, athletes travel to Mt. Hood to continue the on-snow preparation with specific focus on GS. July 31 - August 9, 2016
Target Group:  U12, U14, U16 (open enrollment)

Chile Camp

Chile Camp 
Aug. 13 - 29, 2016
Target Group: U19 (SMS students only)
Focus: The Chile Camp is an essential camp for our SMS athletes. This camp provides high-volume training in free-skiing, SG, GS and SL. The quality of training in Chile is very high at this time of the South American winter, and the athletes train side-by-side with national teams from around the world. It is the destination for elite Alpine training. The athletes continue their progressions from Mt. Bachelor and then move into more advanced gate training. Athletes who were not at Bachelor are brought up to speed with intense free-ski progressions followed by turn shape drills and tactics.
Location: The camp is based out of Farellones, Chile with training at El Colorado and La Parva. A cultural trip to the city center of Santiago highlights the trip. 
Cost:  $3500 + airfare ($500 deposit required)

U16 Saas-Fee Camp

U16 Saas-Fee Camp
Aug. 11 - 27, 2016
Target Group: U16 (SMS students only)
Focus:  This camp is a combination of free skiing and basic gate training progression for GS and SL.
Location:  Sass-Fee, Switzerland is a beautiful mountain town a short distance from Geneva. There are many activities to do in the surrounding area including hiking, soccer and sightseeing. 
Cost:  $3300 + airfare ($500 deposit required)

U14/U12 Saas-Fee Camp

U14/U12 Saas-Fee Camp
Aug. 11 - 22, 2016
Target Group: U12, U14 (open enrollment—Parent must accompany U12 age athletes)
Focus:  This camp is targeted toward U12/U14 athletes seeking a highly focused camp opportunity. We have a lot of fun at this camp, while also addressing the development of athletes who are seriously considering Stratton Mountain School as a high school path. Campers need to be self-motivated, while also being prepared for skiing, ski tuning, and conditioning. We will help guide participants through their camp experience, but glacier training can be especially demanding. U12 athletes must be accompanied by a parent, and BOTH parents and athletes must complete registration forms.

U16/U19 Colorado Camp
Nov. 6 - 21, 2016 
Target Group: U16, U19 (SMS students only)
Focus: This is a race preparation camp with a heavy emphasis on SL training. Using all the skill building that comes from free skiing, SG and GS training, we take the next step in the progression and push athletes in SL in winter conditions on injected snow, while getting them race ready in GS as well. Athletes will be ready for early December competitions when they finish this camp.
Location: Vail and Loveland, Colorado.

Thanksgiving Alpine Camp

THANKSGIVING ALPINE CAMP
Nov. 19 - 26, 2016 
Target Group: U12 and older (open enrollment)
Focus: Early season, on-snow training focuses on age-appropriate drills, technique, and tactics. Prepare athletes for the winter season with 3 days on SL skis, and 3 days on GS skis, and gate training on the US Ski Team Speed Venue. The camp will address comprehensive skills necessary for successful alpine racing—morning warm up, nutrition, technical fundamentals, technical progressions, gate training, tuning, conditioning/recovery workouts. Afternoon activities will include a variety of fun fitness-based activities.
Location: Copper Mountain, Colorado.
Cost:  $TBD + airfare ($500 deposit required)

Colorado World Cup Camp

Colorado World Cup Camp
Nov. 29 - Dec. 11, 2016
Target Group: U14 (SMS students only)
Focus: Building on the previous camps from Mt. Hood and Saas Fee, we will continue to progress athletes on their skiing skills and tactical approach to ski racing. This camp will will involve both high-level training and a trip to see high-level skiing at the Beaver Creek World Cup. The athletes come back from this trip excited to have a great season and start racing in Vermont.
